Patch Project is a participatory, network-building project realized in collaboration among organizations from Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Skopje, Gjilan and Belgrade.
Young artists, cultural activists and journalists coming from ex-Yu countries were working in their communities on creating a joint new, alternative approach to post-conflict Balkan region using artistic means of communication and producing high-quality, socially engaged media content.
As the result of this venture, we are proud to present a four-episode series called NA EX .
Each of four episodes is dealing with different theme, like: Heritage (Recent History), Crossing the Border (Different Freedoms), Lifestyle (People and Ways of Life) and On the Margin (Endangered Minorities). What makes this series dynamic, provocative and interesting to watch is the approach chosen by creators, telling viewers diverse stories on one topic and making the point common and close to all young people in this region.
Project is based on a belief that communication, creative employ of media and art forms, with a strong focus on social consciousness and, in a way, political awareness, plays an exceptionally important role in reconciliation and more effective cooperation process in the post-conflict Balkan region. That is even more so today when majority of ex-YU countries are dealing with new challenges in the course of EU integration process. Constructive criticism is very much appreciated and welcomed when one has to face its own recent past in order to make some significant and qualitative change and progress in the future. This same principle can be applied as well in more general milieu, regarding our respective societies. And that is precisely what Patch Project and documentary series "NA EX" are aiming at.
Each partners' organization have already secured broadcasting of the series in their respective TV media with national coverage, in next couple of months.
Series "NA EX" will be also presented through chain of promotional events in each partners' city, events that would be organized in form of round table discussions, smaller exhibitions of work produced during the course of project or promotional workshops.
